"I was hungry and you gave me food" Matthew 25: 35
Food Drives
Every day, millions of Americans are impacted by hunger and food insecurity. At the local level, thousands of food banks across the U.S. are on the front lines of the battle against hunger. These food banks fill a critical need by collecting food at the local level and making it available to those in those local communities.
The J.O.Y Women's Ministry supports these local food bank efforts by collecting non-perishable food items from our congregation and providing it to a local food bank. Our food bank of choice is the East Tucson Neighborhood Food Pantry - a neighborhood food bank that serves more than 200 families each week, providing needed food (perishable and non-perishable) as well as hygiene items, baby essentials, and pet food to local families who need it.
Food drives are conducted during the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons, and special food drives can be conducted whenever a special need is identified.
You don't need to be a member of our church to support this worthwhile cause. To find out more about the East Tucson Neighborhood Food Pantry, click HERE.
