Here are answers to questions most often asked by those who may be considering attending our church... if you have additional questions or need more information, please feel free to contact us and we will do our best to provide you with answers. You can either call the church office at (520) 298-3740, or click on the CONTACT US button above to send us a message.

Q: Where are you located?
A: Pantano Baptist Church is located on the east side of Tucson, on the east side of Pantano Road, just a few doors south of Broadway.

Q: Are you located near public transportation?
A: Yes. The nearest east-west SunTran bus stops (route 8) are at the corner of Broadway and Pantano, and our church is just a few doors south, on Pantano. The nearest north-south bus stops are on Pantano Road, at the south end of our parking lot. For more information about city bus routes, click HERE.

Q: How long does the Sunday service last?
A: Typically, our Sunday service lasts slightly longer than an hour, but the length can vary a little according to the length of the sermon, the music, and other factors.

Q: How should I dress?
A: People can dress casually, but respectfully.

Q: What does “a new way to be Baptist” actually mean?
A: We are Baptist by tradition, Christian by conviction, and ecumenical in spirit. Many in our congregation came from other faith groups but have found a home with us. We preach, teach and demonstrate grace, love and freedom for all people. You will discover what we are for, not what we are against. We believe the call of God into ministry extends equally to both females and males. Believing the mind is a key component in our faith journey... people are encouraged to think.

Q: Can I attend your church if I am not a Baptist?

A: Absolutely! In the spirit of Jesus Christ, we welcome everyone, and we will do our best to make you feel welcome and comfortable. We have many members who attended other churches – both Christian and non-Christian – and they choose to be here because they have found comfort, a sense of belonging, and nourishment for their souls.

Q: Is your church accessible to the handicapped?
A: Yes. Our sanctuary, offices, fellowship hall, and classrooms are all accessible to the handicapped. Our entire parking lot is wheel-chair accessible, andwe have multiple handicapped parking spaces, as well as accommodations for wheel chairs in our sanctuary. Hearing-assist devices are available upon request.

The City of Tucson has Sun Van transportation service available for handicapped individuals who are ADA-eligible. This service offers drop-off and pick-up service at our front door. Low-income individuals are eligible for discounted fares. Click HERE for more information.

Q: What are the sermons like?
A: Sermons are down-to-earth, relevant, and thought-provoking. If you click on the SUNDAY SERVICE tab at the top of this page, or YouTube, you can view our services and see for yourself.

Q: What is the music like?
A: Praising God through congregational singing is an important aspect of our Sunday service. Our music is
primarily traditional hymns, supplemented by solo and group performances.

Q: What accommodations do you have for small children?
A: Children are considered a vital and welcomed part of our church community. Every Sunday worship service includes a special CHILDREN’S SERMON, which ministers interactively to children in simple terms that they can understand and relate to. We try our best to integrate children into our worship services, assign them meaningful roles that are appropriate for their age, and foster a culture where they feel a sense of belonging. Young children are offered coloring sheets and crayons.

Q: How long has your church been here?
A: Our church was formed in 1965, and over the years it has grown into a complex of 4 buildings to better serve our members and the community.

Q: Are there opportunities to become involved?
A: Absolutely! We encourage people to become involved and share their talents and skills for the good of the church and the community. There are various committees, ministries, events, and fellowship activities to become involved in, and everyone has something unique to contribute.

Q: How can I find out more about your church?
