www.suntran.com/routes-services/sunvan/Here are answers to the questions most often asked by those who are considering attending our church... if you have any questions not listed below, please feel free to contact us and we will do our best to provide you with answers...
Q: Where are you located? A: Our church is located on the east side of Tucson, just south of Broadway, on the east side of Pantano Road.
Q: Are you located near public transportation? A: Yes. The nearest east and west bus stops (route 8) are at the corner of Broadway and Pantano, and our church is just a few doors south from the corner. The nearest north-south stops (route 37) are on Pantano Road, at the south end of our parking lot. For more information about city bus service, click HERE.
Q: How long does the Sunday service last? A: Typically, a Sunday service is slightly longer than an hour, but the length can vary a little according to the length of the sermon, the music, and other factors.
Q: How should I dress? A: Most people dress casually, but respectfully.
Q: What does “a new way to be Baptist” actually mean? A: We're Baptist by tradition, Christian by conviction, and ecumenical in spirit. Many in our congregation come from other faith groups but have found a home with us. We preach, teach and demonstrate grace, love and freedom for all people. You will discover what we are for, not what we are against. We believe the call of God into ministry extends equally to both females and males. Believing the mind is a key component in our faith journey, people are encouraged to think.
Q: Can I attend your church if I am not a Baptist? A: Absolutely! In the spirit of Jesus Christ, we welcome everyone, and we will do our best to make you feel welcome and comfortable. We have many members who formerly attended other churches – Christian and non-Christian – and they choose to be here because they have found comfort, a sense of belonging, and nourishment for their souls.
Q: Is your church accessible to the handicapped? A: Yes. Our sanctuary, offices, fellowship hall, and classrooms are all accessible to the handicapped. We have multiple handicapped parking spaces, as well as accommodations for wheel chairs in our sanctuary. We also have hearing-assist devices available.
The City of Tucson has Sun Van service available for handicapped individuals who are ADA-eligible. This service offers drop-off and pick-up service at our front door. Low-income individuals are eligible for discounted fares. Click HERE for more information.
Q: What are the sermons like? A: Sermons are down-to-earth, relevant, and thought-provoking. If you go to the SERMONS page of this website, you can sample the sermons and see for yourself. Of course, you can also listen to sermons in their entirety and share them with others.
Q: What is the music like? A: Praising God through congregational singing is an important aspect of our Sunday service. Our music is a combination of traditional hymns and southern gospel music.
Q: What accommodations do you have for small children? A: Our Sunday service includes a CHILDREN’S SERMON, which ministers interactively to young children in terms that they can understand and relate to. We also have a nursery.
Q: How long has your church been here? A: Our church was formed in 1965, and over the years it has grown into a complex of 4 buildings to better serve our members and the community.
Q: Are there opportunities to become involved? A: Absolutely! We encourage people to become involved and share their talents and skills for the good of the church and the community. There are various committees, ministries, events, and fellowship activities to become involved in, and everyone has something unique to contribute.
