Secret Sister

What is the Secret Sister Program? The Secret Sister program at Pantano Baptist Church is an outreach ministry for women in our church fellowship. Women are spiritual sisters. We have a responsibility to uplift each other. Be an instrument that God has placed in your secret sister's life to give her the encouragement she needs right when she needs it. “A word spoken in due season; how good it is!” Proverbs 15:23

Our Mission is to create and continue a ministry for our spiritual sisters who pray for, encourage, care for, seek blessing for and fellowship with each other in our walk of faith through our relationship with Jesus and each other.

Who Can Be Involved? Joy Ministry's Secret Sister Program is open to all adult women of Pantano Baptist Church and their friends.

How Can You Be Involved? The Joy Ministry's Secret Sister Program runs from April through November. Two or three times a year a “Secret Sisters Fellowship” is held. Secret Sisters are chosen in April and are revealed in November.

During these fellowships, ladies who wish to be involved will be given a Secret Sister Packet and can fill out an “All About Me” form, telling personal details: family information, hobbies, favorite foods, colors of the house, prayer requests, etc. If you plan to be a Secret Sister, come to the fellowship meeting in April. The lady you choose that day will be your responsibility to minister to for the next six months. You become her silent prayer partner and lift her up. She will not know who you are, and you will know that someone will be doing the same for you, too. If you draw your own name, you will need to draw another one. It is important that you contact your secret sister in some way at least once a month.

From April through October, you can place small gifts, cards, or notes in the basket in the church foyer for your Secret Sister. We have decided that a gift should not cost more than $5.00. Keep in mind that it is the thought that counts. However, it is important that we be modest since not everyone is able to afford gift giving. Something homemade, a sweet treat, or a simple gift is an appropriate way to say, “You’re in my thoughts”.

Be sure to check the basket each Sunday during the six months. If you absolutely cannot come to the first meeting, you can pick up a Secret Sister information packet in the basket in the foyer and turn in the “All About Me” sheet to Kathy Fisher prior to the first meeting. Those that cannot attend will have a name chosen for them.

If you miss the start of the Secret Sister Fellowship in April, you’ll need to wait to join next year in order to keep an even number of members included.

Who is in Charge of This? Contact Kathy Fisher 520-272-7837 or kfisher994@msn.com.
